Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Since October 2008
What is your primary product or service?
Baking and decorating cakes, cookies, & other baked goods
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
It started as something my sister and I could do together, so we started taking classes and the rest is history.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There is very little competition in Granbury. We offer a variety of cakes and other bakeries offer specific types of cake. We have a good rapport with the other bakeries in Granbury. Working a full time job in Fort Worth makes it easy to cater to the south Fort Worth region. People like the idea of having a personal baker who delivers to their job without the delivery charge. Unless it's on the weekend - Monday through Friday are normal business days.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are a home bakery working out of a separate building just for our baked goods business. We eventaully plan to move to a store location for classes and supplies. We have no intention in becoming a store front bakery anytime soon or in the near future.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, checks (Chase direct deposit with the Chase iPhone app), and Visa, MC, Debit Cards, Discover, & American Express.
Which areas do you service?
Granbury & surrounding towns, Fort Worth & Dallas (delivery charges apply)
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The cake tastes as good as it looks.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
"Lord, when doubts fill my mind, when my heart is in turmoil, quiet me and give me renewed hope and cheer." Psalms 94:19
